Psychiatrist – Psychotherapist, Associate Professor of Psychiatry

Scientific Stages & amp; Course

I was born in Corinth and grew up in Athens. I completed my apprenticeship in Primary and Secondary Education with Excellent. I was one of the first to be admitted to the Medical School of the University of Athens and for this reason I received a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation, which I maintained due to my excellent performance until the end of my Medical studies. At the same time I successfully passed the exams of the Educational Council for Medical Graduates, which awarded me the American Medical Diploma ECFMG.

Specialty and Doctorate

After my tenure as an Agricultural Physician followed my specialization in Neurology-Psychiatry at Aeginite Hospital and immediately after my postgraduate training in Canada at the University of Toronto in “General Hospital Psychiatry” and “Counseling – Counseling” . Then I worked for 2 years in the Psychophysiological Laboratory of the Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Athens under the direction of Professor of Psychiatry Costas Stefanis and then I was awarded a Doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina.

Academic Career & amp; Postgraduate training

My academic career is characterized by rich clinical, educational and research work in the whole range of mental disorders both in the Medical School and in the University Hospital and in the Mental Health Center of Ioannina from the position of Director.

From these positions and in collaboration with Professor Aris Liakos, I contributed to the establishment, organization, development and operation of the Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Ioannina and the Center for Mental Health of Ioannina.

At the same time, I continued my further training, specialization and deepening in the field of Individual and Group Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Athens and London (London Institute of Group Analysis).

Research Project

My research work and related publications (more than 100 scientific works have been published in magazines and books both in Greece and abroad) address a range of eclectic approaches to Psychiatry that include the fields of Biological Psychiatry (Psychophysiology, Psychoimmunology), Psychiatry at the General Hospital with a focus on Counseling, Counseling and Counseling. My stand-alone postdoctoral monograph “Psychosomatic and Group Psychotherapy” expresses a synthetic approach to these different but complementary fields.
